Happy Nuclear Free Japan day!!!!!
Tonight all nuclear power plants will be off-line in Japan.
Truly a historic moment for Japan, and for our nuclear world.

Now is the real test for the Japanese movement for nuclear free Japan,
and all those who understand and are concerned about nuclear power.
The critical question is can we be nuclear and fossil fuel free,
while developing a "healthy" economy.
Its going to be a bumpy road, but an extremely necessary one.

Tomorrow there will be a big celebration in Koenji, Tokyo.
One of the most diverse anti-nuclear collectives in Japan.
Old folks, children, house-wives, salary men, business owners,
punks, anarchists, etc. will parade with sound-cars, drumming brigades,
karaoke car, and some good ol' protest chanting.

Below are some posters for it, you can see the diversity.
The punk one was for the last protest/parade they organized.

Lets keep the pressure up!

Some people may have moved on but Fukushima is still unresolved.
People continue to fight for compensation and the right to evacuate,
no clear plan for dealing with accumulating radioactive material,
and I just read that the Fukushima Unit 4 plant is in a dangerous state.
